ONE has a network of Global Activists – in Africa, North America and Europe – fighting against extreme poverty and preventable diseases. Global Activists are advocates for ONE in their communities and beyond. The programme will take a few hours of your time a week and you’ll carry out a variety of creative and impactful actions in support of our campaigning and advocacy work.

If you believe that preventable diseases should be prioritised everywhere, then join us to make a difference in the fight against extreme poverty.

Global Activists in action

In 2019 we set out with the ambitious goal of supporting the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria to help save 16 million lives between 2021 and 2023.

Over 150 Activists from across the US descended on Capitol Hill meeting over 200 congressional offices to call on Members of Congress to “step up the fight” against HIV and AIDS. More than 200 European Activists co-signed a letter to Commission President Juncker, while in Germany they took ONE’s ask to the streets of the Minister’s (very remote) constituency and the French Embassy. In the UK, a parliamentary lobby day saw 24 meetings between activists and key MPs whilst 1000s of postcards were written in The Netherlands.

At the replenishment conference in Lyon, Global Activists from Nigeria, Mali and across France took to the streets to raise awareness of the historic opportunity, speaking directly to world leaders, the media, and partners to advocate for an historic pledge.

The result? The Global Fund met its target for the first time, marking the largest replenishment of a multilateral health organisation in history!
